70th Annual Community Hall Salmon BBQ is August 23

Mark your calendars. Bring your friends and family. Something for everyone! This is the Big Kahuna.

70 years of your community hall supporting special events, classes of all different genres, weddings, birthdays, celebrations of life, covid clinics, BC Ferries community info meetings, voting station, lots of musical concerts and dances, 13 Pantomimes.

The list goes on. And now we can proudly include the wonderfully designed and expertly built Lund Gathering Place, right beside the hall, And the most perfect venue for showcasing some of Gabriola’s favourite musicians.

Get Your Groove On for: Sweet and Low, Pierre Schryer, Mark Woodside, Neeve, Coalmont, 2 Sailing Wait and Caution Fawns. These talented folks will have your toes tapping, feets dancing, faces smiling, from 4pm to 8pm. How cool is that! And all of this while you feast on a delicious salmon dinner, or a salad plate, or a grilled hot dog. And to keep your taste buds alive, Ravenskill will be on site with their popular Gabbies Cider in the beer tent. Need a sweet? Ice cream on a stick. Oh ya, summertime fun!

And yet there’s more…a children’s art area, 50/50 raffle. huge silent auction tent with some wonderful donated items.

And this year, we have been blessed with a special donation of a Yamaha electric organ, including the bench, and many music books that go with it. And all of it is in excellent shape.

As well as paintings, pottery, jewellery etc., the silent auction will have donated services up for grabs.

Literally, something for everyone in this tent.

And if all that doesn’t have you excited, how about lovely 70th Annual colourful t-shirts which will be for sale in various sizes.

What to Bring?

• Cash (no card readers on site)

• folding chair or blanket.

• Bringing your own plate and cutlery would be appreciated.

• Parking? Please note: If you park on Garland, do so only on the south side.

Lots of parking available on Shaw Rd.

If you have a few folks and chairs in the car, perhaps drop them off at the venue, then go and park your car, and only one person will have to walk back to the site, and not have to carry anything. It is a short walk from Shaw rd.

The board and all the volunteers for the 70th Annual BBQ look forward to welcoming you on Saturday August 23, starting at 4 pm.

Remember, this is a fundraiser, and we all want to make sure our treasured Community Hall can continue on for decades more!
