Cats Alive
It’s back!
The Cats Alive bingo was surely one of the surprise hits of the social season last year. And now – it’s back!
Mark your calendars for BINGOwe’en Saturday, October 25. Doors will open at noon, and play will commence at 1:00 p.m.
Some things will be the same for this event. Dinah D and Trevor Gear are once again stepping up as our MCs and bingo-callers extraordinaire. We’ll have a 50-50 draw, a silent auction (this time sponsored by local businesses) and tasty treats available in the snack bar.
Some things will be even better! No worries about lining up in the rain – you can get your tickets in advance, online at https://tinyurl.com/57wvs3ss. Admission is $15 in advance or at the door.
We’ll be entertained by Jbird and the Ukeladies. We’ll be drawing the winning ticket to take home Tommy Tuxedo, a fabulous wire indoor/outdoor sculpture created by local artist Zulis Yalte. And we’ll have a costume contest!
BC Gaming Commission rules mean that those under 19 cannot be admitted to the bingo.
We’re going to be strict about that this time – we’ll miss seeing the kids, but we don’t want to risk our ability to have more bingos in the future. This is an opportunity for all the grown ups to get into their Hallowe’en costumes and have a fun afternoon.
BINGOwe’en is a spooktacular fundraiser for Cats Alive. Thanks to the generosity of our community, since our last bingo we have been able to provide assistance to various cats on Gabriola, and to foster and rehome multiple kittens and cats from a difficult situation on Vancouver Island.
