Dan Pelton
It is with great sadness that my sisters and I announce the sudden passing of our brother Dan Pelton. Dan is survived by the three of us, our spouses and his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and a grand-nephew spread across the country. Dan was born in Montreal and spent his childhood there.
He moved to Ottawa with his family in the early seventies and then again to Thunder Bay where he completed a diploma in journalism at Confederation College.
From there, Dan moved to Toronto where he spent many years working various jobs while writing two novels.
He went back into journalism as a reporter and an editor with several publications.
He made his final move to Gabriola Island BC more than ten years ago.
Wherever he went, Dan made friends. He had a kind heart, a great sense of humour, a caustic wit, incredible creativity and amazing talents in writing and lately in digital art.
He loved living on Gabriola and became a cherished member of the community. He will be sorely missed.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Gabriola and details on that will soon follow.
