Gabriola Island Community Investment Co-op
Gabriola’s community investment co-op is pleased to announce a loan to Nature Spirit Earth Market. With this support, NSEM will upgrade their van with refrigeration, insulation, and air conditioning—to help them bring even more fresh, local food to Gabriola. Chris Hill, Alex Engst, Charlene Rumley, and the dedicated team at NSEM already nourish our community with natural foods, local and organic produce and breads, nutritional supplements, body care, herbs, and spices. Shopping there is always a sensory delight, filled with selections that inspire healthier choices.
Beyond their storefront, NSEM also supports other local businesses. For example, they help transport goods for Ground Up Café and Catering. With this loan, they plan to expand delivery services on Gabriola. This is a much-needed service on Gabriola that will benefit many local entrepreneurs. Truly, NSEM represents community in action! Thank you, Chris, Alex, and Charlene, for your service to our community and your interest in the Gabriola Island Community Investment Co-op! With best wishes from your GICIC Board of Directors: Arlene Carson, Ron Crown, Margy Gilmour, Glenn Harris, Carol Martin, Jenny Newton, and Susan Yates.
