Construction of affordable housing is progressing rapidly at Paisley Place!

Last week the Board of the Gabriola Housing Society welcomed the installation of an information sign from BC Housing – the main funder for the 24-home affordable rental housing project.

Paisley Place will provide 24 homes (studio to 3-bedroom; 6 are accessible) for people with low to moderate incomes as defined by BC Housing.

There will be eight triplexes spread over two acres of the five-acre property on the east and north sides of Paisley Place.

The grant from BC Housing in September 2024, along with funding from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and community donors, enabled construction to begin last November.  Work is progressing very well, and completion is anticipated by approximately May 2026.

Barring any construction delays in the next several months, the Board is planning to publicize the eligibility criteria, rent information and application processes this coming autumn and then to welcome applications in early 2026.
