One of the reasons folks argued against electing Mark Carney’s Liberals was that despite “a change in the coach – the players remained the same”.

This came to mind while I read coverage this past weekend, with Freeland expressing concern that Canadian Companies weren’t involved, given how much taxpayer money was involved.

She made these remarks in her role as Federal Transport Minister.

This response reveals that as Transport Minister she is lacking the basic knowledge of her job; that she doesn’t know that Canada doesn’t have the capacity to build them, and we need ferries now.

More revealing is her comment about ‘taxpayers money’. It reminds us of her history in the Trudeau Government.

Cast your memory back when Trudeau fired her on a Friday, and her very public resignation after the weekend. The news was all about the political impact. What was relegated to the second headline was the economic announcement coming out of her Finance Department that same week.

The projected deficit was $60 billion. Instead, the actual deficit was $80 billion. With a “b”!

Trudeau is gone.

The debt is still there.

Several of our mainline ferries are old and breaking down and we need them replaced quickly. And we are spending a billion less by buying from the Chinese.

With a “b”!

And this “player” still doesn’t get it.
