On Saturday June 14 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Gabriola Elementary School, the Gabriola Fire Fighters are kindly teaming up with Ben Hooton, age nine, to raise funds for the BC Fire Fighters Burn Fund with a car wash and bottle drive.

Come get your car washed, grab some goodies from the barbeque, drop off your bottles and support this great cause.

The little ones can enjoy a peek inside the fire trucks too.

Ben has raised $1600 so far and hopes to raise $3,000 by the time he goes to camp in July. (Ben is seen in the photo to the right at the 2013 Burn Camp). Thank you for your support.

As many of you may already know, our son Ben Hooton was seriously burned on April 24, 2012. He spent 10 days in Nanaimo General Hospital and had numerous appointments during the following year at Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

Thankfully he is now fully recovered and we are extremely grateful for all the wonderful care he received.

Ben now wants to give back by raising funds to help support all the amazing work the Burn Fund does each year.

At [our restaurant] Woodfire, we have created a variety of products to sell with all proceeds going to this cause.

Woodfire Signature Spice Mix (100g); Salted Peanut Brittle (200g); Sweet Pickled Red Onions (350g); and Spiced Mixed Nuts (200g). We sincerely thank you for your support.

Donations are also most welcome.
