Tomorrow, Tour Central (#8-575 North Road…Folklife Village), opens at 10am to welcome visitors into the Preview Gallery. A piece of art from each studio will be on display for all to appreciate and to begin celebrating the 25th Annual Thanksgiving Studio Tour. This is an opportunity to “preview” artists’ work and plot your course for the Studio Tour October 9-11th, 10-5pm. To mix it up a bit we are including music with a mini festival called Fresh Notes. Youth performers sharing their talent surrounded by incredible art and community (see the schedule detail in this week’s ad). Tour Central is open before and during Studio Tour from October 7-11th from 10-5pm and 6:30-9:30pm with free concerts every night at 7pm. There will be seating and a cash bar in the evenings. Vaccine passports are required to enter for the evening hours as the scene shifts from art gallery to event space and maximum attendance remains at 50.
If everything goes well the Fresh Notes concerts will be live streamed to the GAC FB page.
At Tour Central we are hosting a short online 50/50 draw to support the continued development of the Studio Tour. The draw with be October 12th.
You can find tickets online at artsgabriola.rafflenexus.com and anyone in BC can play. A fun way to support Studio Tour and the possibility of winning a little cash. In addition, GAC is also hosting a raffle for a gorgeous giclée by Jeff Molloy called The Church Painting, donated by Kathryn Molloy. Valued at $1900, this unframed work would be a wonderful addition to any home. Tickets are on sale at Tour Central for $5 and 5 for $20. The draw will be made at 7pm October 11th.

Start your Tour at Tour Central and get a good feel for what artists are showing in their studios. No matter the weather, we’re holding out for some sunshine, Tour is always good times and the artists are so looking forward to sharing their studios with you. Studio Tour 2021 runs October 9-11th from 10-5pm each day. All studios require masks, as does Tour Central. Please be patient and be kind, may the art be with you.
