Alison Joan Windecker

Alison Joan Windecker, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Grammy, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, at the age of 70, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 15, 1953, to Hazel Windecker (nee Cox) and Norman Windecker, Alison grew up on Gabriola Island where her life was one of movement and passion. From her early days as a dancer to her later roles as a dance teacher and school educator, she touched countless lives with her dedication and creativity.

Alison’s zest for life extended beyond her professional accomplishments as she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and being in nature. Alison’s true joy came from her family. She found her greatest strength and happiness in these ordinary moments, filled with extraordinary love which built the foundation of her strength and the source of her greatest happiness.

Alison is survived by her mother Hazel Windecker, her loving husband Ron Ffitch, her brothers Dan Windecker (Kim) and Barry Windecker (Ruth), her children Nolan Helander (Matthew) and Aubrey Brabbins (David) and her five grandchildren.

In the rhythm of life, Alison’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
