Now in peace: Claudia Nalini Rauch-Yeend

1990 – 2023

Claudia was born in 1990 in Romania, and died November 11, 2023 in Nanaimo’s Palliative Ward, after suffering for many months with cancer.

She leaves behind daughters; Lilly and Rosie, brother Stefan (and partner Erika), her ex Andy, parents Randy and Susan, family in the UK as well as the US and Romania, and nannies Joan and Lydia. Also her loyal family of friends who brought her comfort during her illness.

Claudia arrived on Gabriola at three-and-a-half months and grew up attending Gabriola pre-school, Gabriola Elementary, and Aurora Learning Center—a happy experience due to the staff’s understanding of learning differences. She found success in sports, dance, singing, art, writing and 4H activities with her horse & dog.

She loved animals, especially her many pets. Camps, camping, and travel were a highlight, as was her love of socializing.

Thanks to the amazing hospital staff, and to all those who cared and supported Claudia and her family during this sad time.
