Mid Island Co-op announced recently that the EV chargers installed at their various locations have gone live.

FLO electric vehicle (EV) chargers were installed over December and early January at the Bowen (Nanaimo), Cranberry (Nanaimo), Parksville (Alberni Hwy), Chemainus, Lake Cowichan, and Gabriola Gas Bars.

In a press release, Mid-Island Co-op says this was done to better support both members and the environment.

Salt Spring Island will be joining the list soon.

The EV initiative is made possible through a partnership with Federated Co-operatives Limited, as part of Co-op’s ongoing efforts to meet the growing demand for EV charging solutions from their member-owners.

The charging setup includes one dispenser at 100kW and another at 50kW, with pricing as follows:

• 50kW dispenser: $0.30 per minute

• 100kW dispenser: $0.50 per minute.

More information available on the Mid-Island Co-op web site.
