Judith Anne Heather

“Joood”

Oct. 9, 1946 – Oct. 9, 2024

It is with great sadness that I announce that on her 78th birthday Joood embarked on her next great adventure at the Palliative Care facility of the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital surrounded by family. Joood is survived by her husband Rich Williams and Children Nicholas Heather, Craig Williams (Lori) and Tia Williams (Scott) and eight grand children, Aquila (Marika), Anya (Corey), Jude (Autumn), Ezra, Aiden, Riley, Connor and Quinn and her sister Amanda MacKenzie (John) and her niece Judy Hamilton (D’Arcy). She was pre-deceased by her sister Gillian Hamilton.

Joood was born in London England and followed her sister Gillian to Canada where she trained as an RPN and held numerous positions helping others in Port Coquitlam, Victoria, Vancouver, Nanaimo and Gabriola Island. She was very passionate about equality, feminism, and helping others.

She was also an avid musician and singer and was part of a number of bands playing and singing traditional and world music.

Thank you to the healthcare providers that cared for Joood over the years with a special heart felt thanks to the NRGH Palliative Care team who so compassionately provided care to Joood and her family during her last days.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
