Randall (Randy) Emerson Korol
July 18, 1960 – Aug. 22, 2024
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Randy.
Randy was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and lived in many locations as a young boy both in Canada and the United States. His favourite childhood home were the years he lived at Mica Creek in British Columbia.
This is where Randy learned to ski and that passion led him to Fortress Mountain in his 20s to ski daily as a Ski Patroller and where he met the love of his life Cheri and married in 1988. They love living in beautiful places and made Kananaskis Country their home for many years.
They moved East of Calgary for a brief time while Randy attended school to study Computers and once his studies were completed, it was off on another adventure. Randy always hoped to return to BC and Gabriola Island was where they made their home since 2001, to raise their two children.
Randy loved nature, science, anything educational, he loved to learn new things and had an incredible mind for retaining all that knowledge. He could teach himself anything he set his mind to. He had a great sense of humour that will be so very missed.
Randy is survived by his wife Cheri, daughter Devyn, son Quinn, mother Hazel Korol, Hazel’s husband Charlie, brothers Scott and Rob and his three beautiful grandsons, Logan, Ethan and Mason who Randy was so very proud of, sister-in-law’s Patti MacPherson (Jim) and Joni Rutledge.
Randy is pre-deceased by his father Maurice, brother Brent and nephew Alec.
Randy’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the Paramedics, Firefighters and Dr Thorne. Thank you all so much.
