Robbie Nichols
1939 – 2021
With great sadness we are announcing the recent passing of Robbie Nichols.
She was predeceased by her husband Bert in 2009, and is survived by her family in the UK ( Steve and Deborah).
She also leaves behind a number of good friends, both on Gabriola and in Nanaimo.
Robbie formed lasting friendships on Gabriola by being a member of the Women’s Institute and the SBYC; she loved her Badminton Group, would enjoy a good card game as well as Mahjong, and a number of other favourite pursuits like her book groups, caring for her horse Misty and exploring the Salish sea with Bert in their boat Clementine.
She was a talented painter, a gracious hostess, and a favourite in her neighbourhood here on Gabriola.
After moving to Nanaimo in 2014 she build more friendships and continued to pursue her varied interests. Her dog Clancy was her constant beloved companion.
Robbie will be missed and lovingly remembered by her family, and the friends and neighbours who all made her feel supported and cared for in the last months of her life.
According to her wishes a small gathering in her honour was held on December 4, 2021.
