Thomas R. Wilson

1941-2023

It is with great sadness that we share the news of our loss of Tom Wilson, patriarch to the Gabriola clan: wife Diane (of 61 years), son Steven, daughter-in-law Vanessa Craig, granddaughters Madelaine and Lillia Craig-Wilson; as well as daughter Wendy, son-in law Chris Newman and son John of London, Ontario. Tom is also survived by his sister, Joan.

Tom was born in Windsor, Ontario. As a young man he received a business degree from Western University and embarked on his 31-year career with Bell Canada. He and Diane raised their family in various locations in Ontario, and they lived in Ontario through to his retirement. The lure of grandchildren brought him and Diane to Gabriola. He loved the west coast and was a much loved “pampa” to his granddaughters.

He will be deeply missed for his quick wit, his dedication and love for his family, and his terrible Dad jokes!

We thank all of you for your support, and for our health care workers both on Gabriola and at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. There will not be a service. If you wish, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory.
