Warrant issued for arrest of driver from 2020 hit and run

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of one Kelly William Jordan.

Charges have been sworn against Jordan resulting from a hit and run incident on Gabriola Island on June 28, 2020 – in which a Gabriolan youth had been hit by a vehicle near the Islands Trust building on North Road – this was prior to the Village Way being constructed beside North Road. The driver of the vehicle – now known to be Jordan – drove away from the scene prior to emergency services arrival.

Jordan was later located, and at the time of the incident, RCMP stated there were signs of impairment.

Jordan has been charged with Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm; as well as Impaired operation causing bodily harm.

Gabriola RCMP say Jordan’s whereabouts are currently unknown, but there is a warrant out for his arrest.
